Nice to meet you!

My name is Kelsey Morgan

Registered Art Therapist (ATR) and Somatic Practitioner

I’m an Art Therapist and Somatic Practitioner who specializes in trauma recovery- helping others make peace with their past while also cultivating presence and peace for the here and now. When the pain of the past or present is extremely heavy, often times you may not know how to use words to express what is going on inside. This is why art and movement are incredibly useful modalities to help unburden what you have been carrying. You do not need to be “good” at art or be a movement enthusiast to work with me. You most definitely do NOT have to know what you’re doing. I will guide you each step of the way- and yes, there’s always plenty of room for just talking!

Let's get to know each other!

By working with me, what most people discover is how creative they truly are. They begin to feel and release pain that has been suppressed for years. They learn how to connect to themselves and be present. They also start to communicate more effectively, and expand their capacity for self-expression and regulation. This gets to be attainable because art therapy and movement bridges the gap between the mind and body. When talk therapy alone often keeps people stuck in looping stories of the mind, negative self-perceptions, or band-aid coping remedies. These creative modalities help you break free from that cycle of suffering.

While I am here to guide you through facing your trauma and other hardships of life, I believe it’s equally important to remember your joy! Engaging in creative therapy modalities helps tap you back into a sense of play that is often forgotten with age. And when life gets too serious, or you dive incredibly deep into healing without balancing it out with joy, is where many people can feel like they have lost themselves. Balancing the depth with joy is key, and both take an immense amount of courage to face. I’m proud of you for taking this step and I would be honored to guide you during this phase of your healing journey!

A bit more about me…

I earned my MA in Art Therapy with an emphasis in Counseling from Saint-Mary-of-the-Woods College. I am a Registered Art Therapist (ATR) through the Art Therapy Credentials Board and American Art Therapy Association. I am certified in Somatic Activated Healing™ which is a radical wellness practice that combines the healing modalities of meditation, mantra, movement, and breath. I am also passionate about dream documentation! I’ve been in cycles of documenting my dreams since 2018 (which is when I had my first spiritual awakening) and creating art with them to gain a deeper relationship with the unconscious mind.

My approach is integrative and client-centered. Through that approach, as you may have already been able to tell, I combine western psychology, eastern practices, and holistic modalities to support sustainable healing rooted in self-love. Whether you feel drawn to art, movement, dreamwork, or simply needing space to talk, we’ll co-create a healing process that meets you exactly where you are. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to schedule yourself a free consultation call!

My Fun Facts:

  • Art has always been a part of my life, but in a free-spirited way. I loved making abstract creations and telling a story through art as a child. When I got to undergrad, I thoroughly disliked being trained in fine arts because creating pieces to perfection to then be critiqued was just not for me. But I was thrilled to discover in my graduate program that Art Therapy is creation for the sole purpose of expression, not to make something look “good.”
  • Dance has also always been a part of my life in a free-spirited way. I was the kid that was constantly making up dances and having dance parties in my room with the fun lights, which I am proud to say that I still do those types of dance parties today. I never got too serious with the art of dance or would call myself a good dancer, but I sure do know how to flail my body around.
  • My recent healing adventures consist of connecting to my Celtic ancestral roots. I have been learning that their tradition also uses art and dance for healing in similar ways that I have been approaching it through Art Therapy and Somatic Movement.
  • I have been involved in the acro yoga community for a year now. This has been such an essential hobby for me that brings play, fun, and joy. This healing journey can get real serious, and acro is a lovely reminder for me that life doesn’t have to be so serious all of the time. It is also meant to be enjoyed.
