I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor specializing in various therapeutic modalities in addition to talk therapy in order to improve the connection between your emotions, thoughts, and behaviors. Before private practice, I’ve worked in variety of settings including an inpatient substance abuse center, outpatient center, transitional living, and holistic wellness and counseling center. Through my years of experience in a variety of treatment settings, the biggest presenting problem that I come across time and time again with almost all of my clients is a sense of helplessness and hopelessness with most of them feeling “lost” or “stuck”. My passion is assisting my clients by helping them identify the “bigger picture” of relationship dynamics and then helping them repair those broken bonds that they have with themselves, their partner, or their family. When working with me, I’ll help you recognize your strengths in addition to helping you identify certain triggers that lead to maladaptive thoughts, emotions, and behavioral patterns.

More About Me
With the increasing distractions of social media, phones, and television; the disconnect from others in our society is more prevalent than ever. Anxiety, ADHD, and Depression continue to be on the rise as more people move away from social interactions and form codependency with technology. Consequently, many are struggling from the unrealistic expectations they form about themselves which stems from the constant comparison of themselves to others. I strive to help people discover their authentic self, purpose, and meaning. When we place too much pressure on ourselves, we take the weight of the world with us. It is only a matter of time until our knees buckle from the weight and in result, are faced with the overabundance of stress that surrounds us.
I make clients feel comfortable with my nontraditional and approachable attitude. I can be very laid back and casual, but also know when to assert recommendations that will help you achieve your goals for therapy. In a time where we struggle to feel validated, it is my hope for you that you can use our sessions together as a place to build trust, form meaningful relationships in your personal life, and use your voice again. You are not alone. The pandemic not only shed light on mental health, but also created a fear many felt throughout the world. I am a firm believer in mind, body, and spirit. They are all connected and when something is out of alignment, we suffer from it. The most important thing is that you feel safe enough in the space that surrounds you to work through the obstacles that have been getting in your way. When working with me, you have the opportunity to choose—in the office or immersed in nature to walk and talk, it is up to you!
I work with people of all ages and enjoy the diversity. Life transitions can occur at any time, whether switching schools, divorcing, relocating, death; these are parts of life that can foster deeper meaning. If you’re a kid, we have some catching up to do about gaming and school. For the teens and adolescents, let’s find the meaning behind the TikTok videos and snaps. As for adults, let’s figure out what is underneath the pain or uncertainty. There is a commonality that usually lingers no matter the age: feeling stuck, high expectations, stress, and/or unresolved conflicts. Regardless, we have the opportunity to help you heal again and uncover the root of the issues.
I have additional training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trauma therapy and a Marriage and Family Graduate Certificate making me eligible for dual-licensure. I am a current member of the Suncoast Mental Health Counseling Association and the International Honor Society in Psychology. In addition, I facilitated a music and art therapy group for approximately two years giving me a rich toolkit to better assist persons with expressing themselves through creative outlets. I utilize both Eastern and Western philosophies to accommodate a larger range of multicultural and eclectic backgrounds.
