Accelerated Resolution Therapy
Find Fast Relief and Lasting Change
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an innovative treatment to help those suffering from many common issues, including post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, depression, grief, obsessive-compulsive disorder.
How Can Accelerated Resolution Therapy Help Me?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) is an evidence-based psychotherapy that uses eye movements to rewire traumatic and stress-related memories. Most clients experience immediate relief in just one session.
ART is a concise and effective form of therapy that reduces reactions to negative thoughts without requiring extensive discussion about the trauma, making the process less overwhelming.
This therapy helps the brain form new connections, providing resolution and closure. While traditional talk therapy is beneficial, ART offers a quicker, less re-traumatizing alternative, especially when traditional methods feel insufficient.
Common Questions About Accelerated Resolution Therapy
How does Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) differ from Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)?
Both practices utilize rapid eye movements to facilitate shifts in the brain, however, ART is more focused and less time intensive. An individual can find relief from an identified problem within one session. Accelerated Resolution Therapy is more targeted to a specific event and catered to being a brief form of therapy.Â
Is ART like hypnosis?
Accelerated Resolution Therapy is NOT hypnosis. An individual will be talking to the counselor throughout the session. An individual is fully aware and does not lose consciousness throughout the process.Â
How long does it take?
An individual can find relief after one session. Depending on the extent of the trauma, or identified problems, multiple ART sessions may be recommended. However, ART is short-term and usually does not take more than 3 to 5 sessions in the most extreme cases. Most clients only need 1 or 2 sessions, and it may be used in conjunction with traditional talk therapy to expedite relief for our clients.
