Travis McNulty
Nice to meet you!
My name is Travis McNulty
Clinical Director & Founder, Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Guardian Ad Litem
I strive to assist my clients in achieving their optimal mental health by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy combined with humanistic psychology to promote balance in all areas of their lives from a holistic perspective.
My specialties are:
Work/Academic Related Stress, Performance Anxiety, Communication Problems in Relationships, Executive Coaching
Let’s get to know each other!
Through my years of practice, I’ve been passionate in working with thousands of clients in promoting good mental health by helping them to unravel their cycles of negative thoughts, negative emotions, and negative behaviors that interchangeably obstruct them from being who, and getting to, where they want to be in life.
I strive to assist my clients in achieving their optimal mental health by utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy combined with humanistic psychology to promote balance in all areas of their lives from a holistic perspective.
As a clinician, I have a unique set of clinical skills and expertise with an emphasis on utilizing holistic psychology in conjunction with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when counseling both adolescents and adults. I’m most passionate about treating anxiety in my clients because I suffered from anxiety as a teen and a young adult. I was completely blindsided by this crippling mental health disorder that rocked me at my core. My anxiety led to insomnia, social anxiety, and a heightened sense of self-awareness that wreaked havoc on every facet of my personal life. I was put on medication that made me feel like a zombie, so I discontinued taking it almost immediately. I reached out to a psychotherapist, and it was the best decision I ever made. Through psycho-education, cognitive behavioral therapy, some serious personal work, along with significant lifestyle changes, I took back control of my life. So much so that I decided to dedicate the rest of my life to helping others who struggle with anxiety and other mental health issues.
I’m living proof that you can overcome these awful disorders. I pledge as the founder of this counseling center that I, along with the fantastic counselors of this practice, are all constantly striving for excellence and are always researching cutting-edge neuroscience and therapy modalities to better help you overcome whatever it is that you’re struggling with. We hold ourselves to the highest standards because we understand the importance of mental health.
I’m no longer accepting new clients, but Bjorn Nagle and Ramon Aleman are excellent therapists that I recommend in my place.
A bit more about me…
I graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s in Psychology. During my undergraduate studies at FSU, I interned for the front-running pioneer of anxiety research, Dr. Jesse Cougle, at his lab on anxiety disorders. I also got my first taste of clinical application as one of the youngest crisis counselors in the nation at 2-1-1 Big Bend, a crisis counseling hotline and community referral service. After graduation, I continued my education at the University of South Florida, earning a Master’s Degree in Mental Health and Rehabilitation Counseling. I’m currently licensed as a Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida, where I’ve presented at regional and national conferences on the topics of performance-based anxiety, holistic anxiety treatment, mindfulness-based anxiety treatment, and workplace-related stress and burnout. I’m a current professional member of the Anxiety Disorders Association of America and an active volunteer Guardian ad Litem (GAL) with the 6th Judicial Circuit here in Pinellas County, where I advocate for the best interests of Florida’s abused, abandoned, and neglected children.
Outside of academia, I was a personal trainer and general manager of a gym throughout graduate school. I thoroughly enjoyed helping people achieve optimal physical conditioning because I saw the direct link it had to their mental health. I am a huge advocate for the mind-body connection, especially in a society where we’ve become more sedentary than ever in human evolution. In working with me, we will be diving deep into your physical health, diet, sleep, and exercise routine.
My Fun Facts:
- I’m a #girldad to 2 year old Palmer and baby Riley. They have been the most fantastic experience of my entire life, and I become more in love with them every day. My wife Elizabeth and I also have 2 Cavapoos.
- I’m fanatical about traveling abroad and tasting my way through the world. Whenever I have the opportunity to travel, I take it. I think it’s the best remedy for the human soul, especially when the routine gets to be a bit too much.
- “If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane.” I love comedy, and I think a life without comedic relief is not worth living. I’m a BIG fan of Saturday Night Live, not the new stuff but the classics with Chis Farley, David Spade, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, and the list goes on! My favorite skit has to be Will Ferrell’s More Cowbell or Chris Farley’s Chippendales Audition/A Van Down By The River skits. Now that I think about it, there’s no way I could decide. I love them all!
- I’m a massive Liverpool Football Club supporter, and I recently attended their game, where they won the most prestigious tournament in all of Europe, The Champion’s League.
- I’m highly active, and I love to exercise/be outdoors. Not so much the part where I have to train, but I love competing. I play soccer two nights a week on a team, I’m a member of the St. Pete Cycling Club, and I take any opportunity to get outside and play sports. I’m obsessed with skiing and snowboarding (I was probably born in the wrong state), but I try and get out to the mountains as much as I can. I love hiking, camping, fishing, paddle boards, mountain biking, and other high-adrenaline sports. As I mentioned, I’m a big proponent of taking care of your body because I know if I’m eating right and exercising mentally, I feel great!

Let’s get to know each other!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor driven by a passion to help individuals, couples, and families thrive through therapy. With over 16 years of experience, I have a genuine commitment to helping my clients navigate through challenges and struggles and to foster strong and loving relationships.
I work with children, teens, adults, couples, and families from all walks of life. Everyone is welcome in my office, regardless of their race, culture, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. My goal is to be a safe space for everyone.
I am a proud mother of three children, giving me a unique perspective and first-hand knowledge of the difficulties of balancing parenthood with personal and professional responsibilities.
I spent much of my early career helping children and currently incorporate play and art therapy with my younger clients.
Utilizing play and art in therapy provide powerful avenues for children to explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences in a safe and creative manner. Through play, children can freely express themselves, develop problem-solving skills, and gain a sense of control. Incorporating art-based techniques into therapy to facilitate emotional expression allows them to communicate non-verbally, using colors, shapes, and symbols to express their inner world. Both modalities help children process trauma, develop social and emotional skills, enhance self-esteem, and foster resilience. Creating a supportive and nurturing environment empowers children to find their voice, heal, and thrive, unlocking their full potential for growth and well-being.
When it comes to couples and families, I use a holistic and systemic approach, guiding couples and families toward healthier, more fulfilling relationships. I understand that each individual’s well-being is intricately connected to the dynamics within their relationships and family system. Drawing upon evidence-based practices and tailored interventions, I help my clients navigate conflicts, improve communication, strengthen emotional bonds, and develop effective coping strategies.
My passion for helping couples and families extends beyond my clinical practice. I actively participate in community outreach programs, workshops, and speaking engagements. I am extensively involved in the Greek Community and my church and have recently been quoted in numerous Newsweek articles where I have given my perspective as a licensed therapist.
As a Qualified Supervisor Director at McNulty Counseling, I am using my passion and experience to supervise interns and mentor the next generation of mental health counselors.
A bit more about me…
Specialized Areas of Focus for Couples and Families
Throughout my career, I have gained expertise in addressing a wide range of issues that commonly impact couples and families. My areas of focus include:
1. Communication Challenges: I recognize communication’s crucial role in maintaining healthy relationships. I help couples and families develop practical communication skills, fostering an open, empathetic dialogue that promotes understanding and emotional connection.
2. Conflict Resolution: I support couples and families in navigating conflict constructively. By providing a safe and neutral environment, I can facilitate the exploration of underlying issues, encourage empathy, and help develop strategies for peaceful resolution.
3. Intimacy and Sexual Concerns: I understand the complex dynamics surrounding intimacy and sexuality within relationships. This is a non-judgmental and supportive space for couples to explore their concerns, deepen emotional and physical intimacy, and address issues related to desire, satisfaction, and compatibility.
4. Parenting and Blended Families: Recognizing the unique challenges faced by parents and blended families, I offer guidance in navigating co-parenting, step-parenting, and family integration. I am here to help families establish healthy boundaries, manage conflicts, and foster a sense of cohesion and harmony.
5. Life Transitions and Adjustments: I also assist couples and families in navigating significant life transitions, such as marriage, divorce, relocation, or the birth of a child. I provide support and guidance during these pivotal moments, helping individuals and families adapt, grow, and build resilience.
Incorporating play and art-based techniques into therapy
I wholeheartedly believe in the power of art and play therapy to help children express themselves, heal, and grow. I have witnessed firsthand the transformative impact these therapeutic modalities can have on young minds, and it is truly a privilege to facilitate this process.
Incorporating art-based techniques into therapy to facilitate emotional expression allows children to communicate and process their thoughts, emotions, and experiences nonverbally. Through various artistic mediums such as drawing, painting, sculpting, and collage, children can freely express themselves and create tangible representations of their inner world. Creating art becomes a language that transcends words, enabling children to explore and make sense of their feelings, memories, and challenges.
During therapy sessions where art is incorporated, I provide a safe and nurturing space where children can freely explore their creativity. I encourage them to express their thoughts and emotions using colors, shapes, and symbols. Through gentle guidance and support, I help them interpret and reflect on their artwork, encouraging self-awareness, self-acceptance, and emotional healing.
Play therapy, on the other hand, allows children to naturally engage in their most natural form of communication: play. Play is a child’s language, and through various play techniques, I create an environment where children can freely express their thoughts, fears, desires, and conflicts. Through imaginative play, storytelling, and role-playing, children can explore different scenarios, problem-solving skills, and develop a sense of agency and control over their experiences.
In play therapy sessions, I provide a wide range of toys, games, and props that encourage creativity and imagination. I observe and interact with the child, joining them in their play and providing gentle guidance when necessary. By building a trusting therapeutic relationship, I create a safe space where children feel comfortable exploring and expressing their innermost thoughts and emotions.
Both art and play in therapy sessions allow children to externalize and process their experiences in a developmentally appropriate manner. They enable children to explore complex emotions, resolve conflicts, and develop coping strategies. These therapeutic approaches can help children build self-esteem, enhance problem-solving skills, regulate emotions, and improve communication and social skills.
It is an incredible privilege to witness the transformative power of art and play therapy in the lives of the children I work with, and I am truly honored to be a part of their journey toward healing and growth. I aim to empower children to discover their strengths, develop resilience, and navigate life’s challenges. Through these expressive modalities, children can find their voice, heal from trauma, and create a greater self-understanding and emotional well-being.
ADHD and Executive Functioning
I am highly passionate about helping those with ADHD, and there are many ways that therapy can benefit those with this diagnosis.
I help individuals develop essential skills such as time management, organization, planning, and impulse control through tailored interventions and strategies. Cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) can assist in identifying and challenging negative thought patterns and improving self-regulation. Additionally, I provide a safe space for exploring emotional and social difficulties associated with ADHD, offering coping mechanisms and social skills training. Therapy empowers individuals to understand their strengths, embrace challenges, and implement practical tools to manage ADHD symptoms, fostering self-confidence, improved focus, and overall well-being.
I received my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Argosy University Sarasota in May 2007.
I began my career by becoming a Certified Domestic Violence Advocate working with children at a shelter for children and teens. I continued my practicum as a crisis counselor for victims of trauma. My supervisor was one of the first to implement Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) into practice and also trained me in DBT. I later worked as the primary therapist for a residential facility, running daily social skills groups for the three cottages that housed dozens of children and teens.
I have been in private practice since beginning with McNulty Counseling in 2018.
I have used my experiences growing up in a family business and helping my husband’s business to incorporate executive, business, and life coaching into my practice at McNulty Counseling. I have made several appearances on NBC’s Bloom as a Mental Health Expert, and I am a Newsweek Mental Health Contributor with many articles in the U.S. and Europe that have also been translated and published in both Latin America and Asia.
I am the Clinical Supervisor at McNulty Counseling and oversee interns working towards licensure. I utilize the Integrated Developmental Model of Supervision that combines the clinician’s skills and the clinician’s experience to have the intern reach optimum levels of autonomy and competency.
My Fun Facts:
I have been the Greek Dance Director at my church for over 30 years. I have taught hundreds of students and performed with my group for decades.
I served on the board of the Pancyprian Association for Refugees from the island of Cyprus, where my family is from. I planned many events that involved working with Congress and other government officials both here and overseas on refugee issues. I received an honorary award from the Pancyprian Association for my work with the organization.
I have three wonderful children – two are in college, and one is in high school.

Ever thought to yourself, Maybe I should talk to someone? I am here to validate and confirm that asking for help doesn’t need to feel uncomfortable or shameful. My goal as a clinician has always been to contribute to the paradigm shift that Therapy is for EVERYONE.
As a Millennial in modern-day America, along with many others, I understand that the struggle is real. I am no stranger to the discomfort, pressure, and sky-high expectations of living in today’s society. I am passionate about working with Adolescents and young adults to navigate this changing world. I have found that despite its negative track record when used strategically, social media can become a tool to inspire and empower us. Let me show you how!
As a queer woman, I am passionate about creating safe and affirming spaces for those who identify under the LGBTQIA+ Umbrella. Whether you are questioning, struggling with identity, or looking to explore your sexuality, rest assured you do not need to do it alone with many years of lived experience and experience working with LGBTQIA+ individuals at an Inpatient Psych. The facility, my office, is a safe space for you to be unapologetically and authentically yourself.
Are you a self-proclaimed people-pleaser? Have you ever wished you were more assertive or confident? In our lives, we may sometimes find ourselves experiencing compassion fatigue or developing underlying resentment due to poor boundary setting. I am here to educate and assist with identifying characteristics of codependency, poor boundaries, and negative self-talk. Instead, we will work to develop healthy boundaries and alternative behaviors to co-dependency and learn positive self-talk. A foolproof guide to creating and maintaining healthy boundaries and meaningful relationships, if you will. Hard work at first, but you’ll thank yourself later.
I received my Bachelor’s in Social Work from Saint Leo University and continued to receive my Masters in Social Work From Florida State University. I am currently a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern under supervision while I work towards my clinical license (LCSW). Throughout my career, I have worked in a variety of settings. I previously worked as a Behavioral Health Therapist on a Crisis Stabilization unit, as well as worked as a counselor in an outpatient substance abuse center. I love to travel and visit the US National Parks. Hiking has become an excellent way for me to stay active and appreciate all of mother nature’s wonders. I also love indoor/outdoor rock climbing in my spare time. It has become such a great way to stay active and self-care.
I have a 4yr old long-haired Chihuahua named Kai, who is my entire world. You can often find us hanging in a hammock at Vinoy park. I find reading by the water therapeutic, and Kai enjoys watching the squirrels dodge rollerbladers and bikers on the sidewalks around us.
Although there are technically five love languages, Coffee should be the 6th. As a Pinterest quote once said, “I don’t drink coffee to wake up. I wake up to drink coffee.” During my travels, one of my favorite things is researching the best coffee shops each city has to offer. As a St. Pete local, I am proud to say some of our very own are in my top 10!

I work in St. Pete – Downtown
My hourly rate is: $185
My specialties are:
Anxiety, Depression, Relationship issues, Communication, Trauma, Life Stressors and Adjustments, Family conflict, Grief, Self-esteem Stress, Suicidal Ideations, Behavioral Issues, School Issues, Divorce Marital and Premarital Issues, Coping Skills, Mood Disorders, Life Coaching
Let’s get to know each other!
I hope to work alongside you in this next step of your mental health journey to make it feel rewarding, worthwhile, and effective. My personal approach to counseling is simple- I say that it’s like a bandaid on a cut. I am not there to “fix” you, I am there to provide a safe, healthy, protected, and nurturing environment for you to heal on your own.
I have worked in a variety of professional settings, but my heart is in working with individuals in private practice. I have extensive experience working with those who are struggling with:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Relationship/Communication Issues, and
- Life Stressors or Transitions
I have experience working with all ages of people with a variety of stressors and diagnoses, but primarily I love to work with:
- Pre-teens
- Adolescents
- Young Adults
- Adults
I have had the privilege of working with all kinds of lovely humans, so please know that all races, cultures, religions, genders, sexualities, etc. are welcome in my office! This is a safe space to be you.
I will be there every step of the way with a tailored treatment plan to your specific needs. Too many times do I hear that someone had a negative experience with therapy, and I aim to change your perception if that is the case; or ease you in if it is your first experience. I will always meet you where you are at. If you are worried about opening up and talking, or if you feel so overwhelmed with all you have to say, do not worry- we will be able to navigate through sessions together. I want my clients to feel heard, accepted, understood, comfortable, and free to be vulnerable.
While I bring my expertise into sessions, I also understand that everyone is the ultimate authority of themselves. My approach is collaborative, meaning if there is any technique or theory of therapy that does not connect with you then I have plan B, C, D, etc. to draw from as well. This is your time, your space, your chance to heal and process the things that are weighing you down, so I want to honor that you get something out of each session.
Therapy with me would look like 50 minutes of uninterrupted time consisting of whatever you need in that moment. Sometimes we need to vent, sometimes learn skills, be lovingly challenged, process a traumatic situation, gain a different perspective, do an activity or exercise, grow in our knowledge and education of the mind, let down baggage we’ve been holding, etc. It is different for everyone, but know the focus will be on what’s healthy and appropriate for you.
A bit more about me…
If you are feeling the nudge to move forward and come in for a session, I encourage you to listen to yourself. You do not have to be alone in this, and I’d love to get to know you better. I believe a combination of deep mental and emotional work along with practical application is critical, and I can help you get where you want to be.
If you are a parent or guardian of a teen, please know that I will work with you both- recognizing and honoring who the client is but keeping an open line of communication.
If you are an individual coming in yourself, please know that we can involve others in your sessions additionally, if needed and wanted.
I use a variety of techniques, but most commonly, I pull from- Humanistic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Compassion Focused, Culturally Sensitive, Emotionally Focused, Mindfulness-Based, Rational Emotive Behavior (REBT), Person-Centered, LGBTQIA+ Affirming, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
This means that I focus first and foremost on our therapeutic relationship and then also work in solution-focused techniques and emotional work that uncovers those beliefs we have that make us act the way we do. I would consider myself an Integrative therapist, meaning that I understand that no one treatment is correct for everyone. Each person is unique, and I am highly intentional in considering that as we find what is best for you.
If you are looking for a non-judgmental, safe space that allows for growth, I hope to hear from you and look forward to these next steps together.
“Your present circumstances don’t determine where you can go; they merely determine where you start.” -Nido Qubein

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Master’s Level Certified Addiction Professional (MCAP)
I believe everyone has a voice that is worthy of being heard, and everyone is worthy of feeling seen. But it is not uncommon to believe that our voice does not matter and that our words are insignificant.
I work in St. Pete – Tyrone
My hourly rate is: $185 for individuals and $235 for couples
My specialties are:
Couples Counseling, Marriage Therapy, Trauma and PTSD, Anxiety Treatment, Depression Treatment, Grief Counseling, Self-esteem Issues, Constructive Communication, Setting Healthy Boundaries
Let’s get to know each other!
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I have worked in outpatient settings, inpatient stabilization units, therapeutic communities, and residential facilities. I have worked with individuals, couples, families, and groups.
I specialize in trauma, anxiety, depression, communication, and boundaries. I believe in seeing everyone as their own person, and I cater my therapeutic approach accordingly. Sometimes traditional talk therapy is most helpful. Sometimes I utilize more unconventional and experiential methods. I like to help my clients recognize their patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving and work with them to improve these patterns, so they have a better relationship with themselves and with others.
A bit more about me…
I believe everyone has a voice that is worthy of being heard, and everyone is worthy of feeling seen. But it is not uncommon to believe that our voice does not matter and that our words are insignificant. We may feel ignored, neglected, unsupported, and invalidated. When this happens, we may turn inward and make ourselves and our needs very small.
We may lash out and get loud so that others will hear us. Or we may turn to substances, food, relationships – anything to fill this void we feel inside. We have these unmet needs at our core, and we are not always sure how to meet them in healthy ways. My goal is to help you identify what is missing, help empower you to find and use your voice, assist you with connection to yourself and with others, and find healthier ways to cope when life becomes messy and overwhelming.
We all experience trauma – whether it feels big and obvious or maybe it is a bit more subtle. Sometimes we do not realize how this trauma is impacting us daily. We think we are in control, but we are reacting to life rather than responding to it. Trauma is tricky – it isn’t something we often want to discuss. And sometimes, there are no words to describe that feeling in the pit of our stomach.
I offer specialized trauma therapy that requires little to no talking at all. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), both of which provide alternative ways of coping with trauma. I have worked with countless clients through their traumas, and I consider it a true honor and privilege to be a part of my clients’ journeys. I understand that therapy requires clients to lean into vulnerability and trust – which are often not easily given. And I have the most profound respect for those who choose to do their work and are open to the process. I also respect those who are hesitant about the process, who are skeptical of its benefits and those who are even resistant to it. All I ask is that you are honest. Honesty is a crucial step toward healing.
My Fun Facts:
I’m a mom to two young boys, and they are my best little friends. We love going to the Aquarium, playing at the park, watching the garbage trucks outside our window, and having impromptu dance parties in our kitchen. They keep me silly and help me notice the magical moments.
I love writing, and it’s always been my dream to become an author. I’m currently working on my first book.
I enjoy live music, theater, trying new restaurants, and going on adventures. I value quality time with family and friends, genuine connections, and I’m all about kindness. I continue to work on being kinder to myself.
I am passionate about normalizing emotions and experiences.

Let’s get to know each other!
Originally from Ohio, I’ve lived across the Midwest and Carolinas before settling in sunny Florida. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology in South Carolina, focusing on research in clinical depression and brain systems, particularly the vestibular system. I went on to complete my Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Psychology in the Tampa Bay area.
My journey to becoming a therapist began in childhood as I witnessed loved ones face mental health and substance use challenges. Those early experiences sparked my drive to understand, learn, and eventually dedicate my career to helping others. They also taught me to sit with discomfort, hold space for hard emotions, and connect authentically with people moving through adversity.
A bit more about me…
Therapy with me is collaborative, flexible, and rooted in person-centered values. I see you as the expert in your life—I’m here as a guide and partner in the process. Sessions might include EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT skills, solution-focused strategies, or creative interventions like play therapy and art activities, always tailored to your unique needs.
I believe therapy can be a safe place to be open, silly, reflective, or unapologetically yourself. Starting therapy takes courage, and while change isn’t always linear, it’s a privilege for me to walk alongside you in your growth and healing.
My Fun Facts:
1. I enjoy reading, watching documentaries, staying active through fitness and yoga, music and going to concerts, and exploring new places through travel- Ireland is the next spot on my bucket list!
2. When I am not in session I am likely hanging with my puppy (Addy) and my three cats (Milo, Ozzy, and Margo), reading psychological thrillers, cooking, or enjoying the Florida sun.

My passion and gifting lies in creating a safe space for you to share openly and deeply, and to create an environment where you can begin the process of healing and growth. My personal approach to counseling is catered towards the belief that when my client is seen and heard, meaningful and positive change can happen!
As a licensed mental health counselor, we can work together in a collaborative effort to give you the tools, insight and empowerment to create something different in your life. My style has been described as soothing, comforting and compassionate, and I draw on this to create a place where you can feel safe to be gently challenged and feel capable of recognizing your own strength. I utilize an eclectic and holistic approach to therapy, including EFT (emotion focused therapy), TFCBT, (trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy), motivational interviewing and DBT (dialectical behavior therapy). I am also trained in EMDR, (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) which I utilize in sessions often to reduce triggers and provide healing from trauma. Part of my sessions will include exploring themes in your past that might be influencing negative beliefs about yourself, in the hopes that if you understand where your beliefs come from, it can help to facilitate compassion for yourself and bring positive change. I truly believe that understanding how to love yourself can lead to amazing things.
I view our session together as your time, and I stress the importance of being a consistent presence to be able to help you to share in the way that meets your needs. I may ask you a question at the start of our session, like “What feels important to talk about today?” Therapy can be intimidating, and it can be a huge step for someone to seek help, and I am honored that I can be a part of the process of your journey!
A bit more about me…
I received my bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of Northwestern, and then went on to complete the first two years of my master’s in clinical counseling at Denver Seminary, and the last half at Argosy University. As a licensed mental health counselor, I have experience in helping individuals including pre-teens, adolescents, young adults and older adults, couples and families in various settings. I have worked in case management and counseling in an addictions setting, as well as three years in a community mental health setting. I had the honor of going into peoples’ homes for therapy for several years, which gave me a deeper understanding of what my clients were going through in their own environments. Being in the community mental health setting has increased my understanding of complex and traumatic issues, and attempting to understand external and internal factors that are influencing behavior and thinking patterns. My areas of passion include trauma, self esteem, life transitions, grief/loss, anxiety, depression, LGBTQIA+ Affirming, parenting and relationship issues, and aging concerns.
I am excited to start this process of healing with you, and I feel blessed to be able to share in growth and change in your life.
My Fun Facts:
- I am a proud mom of four adult children, and they live all over the country, including Colorado, Kansas and Florida. They are all so unique and special, and I enjoy visiting them as often as I can.
- I “dated” my husband in Colorado in middle school, (which consisted of smiling at each other across the hall and briefly holding hands), and then I broke up with him in the cafeteria. Twenty five years later we discovered each other again, and now have been married for five years.
- I love going to the beach as often as I can, and find it incredibly soothing. I enjoyed the mountains in Colorado Springs, CO, where I grew up, but I feel that the beach gives me the same feeling of peace.
- I enjoy music very much and sometimes use it in my therapy sessions. If you look at my playlist right now it ranges from pop to heavy metal.
- I have two very cute and naughty dogs – Remington the weiner dog and Winston the Great Dane. They bring so much of joy to our family.

Let’s get to know each other!
As a therapist, I invite you to explore your inner world—a journey that may have its challenges but holds the promise of meaningful growth and transformation. Together, we’ll confront what’s within, uncovering truths and tapping into your potential. My approach goes beyond addressing symptoms; it engages you in self-discovery and personal development that requires courage and commitment.
Drawing from the traditions of psychology and philosophy, I encourage you to find meaning and embrace authenticity through honest and sometimes challenging reflection. We’ll delve into the beliefs and values that shape your experiences, questioning assumptions and facing fears that may have been long avoided. This process requires confronting difficult truths, but through our shared courage, we’ll foster growth and a stronger connection to what truly matters to you.

Alongside traditional talk therapy, we’ll explore techniques from positive psychology, movement, and the latest advancements in cognitive and neuroscience. By integrating these diverse methods, I aim to provide a holistic approach that promotes lasting change. While the path ahead may be challenging, embracing it can help you realize your potential.
A bit more about me…
I began studying philosophy at a young age, driven by a desire to understand myself and find my place in the world. This exploration into existential questions and the nature of reality eventually led me to psychology, where I could delve deeper into the human mind and behavior. My desire to become a therapist emerged when I experienced the profound impact of deep, exploratory conversations in my own life. Moments where two people engage—not to compete, but to genuinely listen, understand, and collaboratively delve into meaningful topics—revealed to me the transformative power of authentic dialogue. I believe that fostering this kind of connection is one of the most important aspects of our lives.
Engaging in open exploration of who we are and what we perceive with another person is, in my view, a profound form of intimacy. In a world that often feels isolating, such genuine connections become even more essential. Carl Jung captured this sentiment when he said, “Loneliness does not come from having no people around you, but from being unable to communicate the things that seem important to you.” This insight resonates deeply with me and underscores my commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and authentic understanding in my work as a therapist.

I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family Therapy. Before private practice, I worked in multiple settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and holistic wellness counseling centers.
My passion is assisting my clients by helping them repair their relationships with themselves and others. I focus on empowering individuals to express their emotions through various outlets, communicate their needs, and find their purpose.
A bit more about me…
With the increasing dependency of technological advancements, society is moving away from the ability to have meaningful connections. Studies have shown correlations with higher anxiety, depression, and attention/comprehension affiliated issues related with increased screen time. Consequently, this results in increased isolation, imposter syndrome, the need for instant gratification, and low feelings of self-worth. I strive to help people achieve their goals of finding a sense of purpose, boosting confidence, and letting go of stressors that have consumed them.
I make clients feel comfortable with my nontraditional approach to counseling by using a range of modalities. In addition, I would consider my personality more relaxed while also knowing when to assert recommendations. In a time where individuals struggle to feel validated, it is my goal to create a safe space to help clients feel that they can trust again. By helping access the inner strengths from within, we can work together to increase a sense of awareness, connection, and ability to foster mindfulness. You are not alone. Integrating various healing components to the mind, body, and spirt can bring forth a sense of long-lasting fulfillness.
Working with clients of all ages and backgrounds grants me the experience to help tackle issues as they occur. Life transitions can be unpredictable so whether switching schools, divorcing, job changes, or death; these parts of life can promote deeper meaning. A common denominator expressed within various clients tends to be similar; feeling stuck, high expectations, unresolved trauma, stress or conflict, and shame. Nevertheless, there is an opportunity to help you heal again and uncover the potential root of the problems.
I hold additional trainings in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) trauma therapy and a Graduate Certificate in Marriage and Family. I studied systemic issues throughout schooling in addition to individual therapy. I am a current member of the Suncoast Mental Health Counseling Association and the International Honor Society in Psychology. The alternative modalities I have experience with conducting individual/group therapy contains music and art therapy. These can be phenomenal tools to help uncover what the mind can’t fully articulate or extract. Lastly, I utilize both Eastern and Western philosophies to accommodate an extensive range of multicultural and eclectic backgrounds. I look forward to working with you!
My Fun Facts:
- One would call me a musical enthusiast where I take great pleasure in venturing to various concerts and music festivals. I appreciate all genres of music, but would consider my favorites consisting of alt. rock, metal, instrumental (violin), and smooth jazz.
- I have a genuine admiration for travel and experiences. (Yes, I’m a millennial!) My favorite landscapes contain waterfalls and natural springs. I have frequented many throughout the states and hope to one day explore Sydney (AUS), Capetown (SA), Alaska, and New Zealand.

I want to help you uncover your inner strengths and empower you to rewrite these stories so that you can experience life in the way that feels authentically you in accordance with your vision and not the expectations or opinions of others.
I work in St. Pete – Tyrone
My hourly rate is: $185
My specialties are:
Borderline Personality Disorder, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART). LGBQ and TGEQ individuals, and folks who are exploring their gender, sexuality, and sexual interests. My office is a space that is validating of non-traditional relationship styles and structures, including kink/BDSM and polyamory/non-monogamy and can provide guidance for people interested in pursuing or learning more about these types of relationships.
Let’s get to know each other!
We all have a story that can often consume or even define us. Sometimes those stories are exactly the thing that prevents us from living a life that is emotionally and spiritually fulfilling, and we become stuck in patterns of suffering.
Those stories often take the form of things like “I’ll never be good enough,” “I don’t know who I am,” “people always leave me,” or simply “I’m not lovable”.
I want to help you uncover your inner strengths and empower you to rewrite these stories so that you can experience life in the way that feels authentically you in accordance with your vision and not the expectations or opinions of others.
A bit more about me…
I love working with adolescents, young adults, and millennial-aged individuals, and I specialize in the treatment of borderline personality disorder, trauma, and anxiety. I take a holistic approach to therapy, leaning heavily on the teachings of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
I incorporate Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) with most clients. I don’t believe that therapy is a “one size fits all” approach, and I enjoy the ability and flexibility to get creative to ensure you have all the tools you need to live the life you want. As a queer woman, my office is safe and affirming for my LGBTQ siblings and peers and all who are exploring their sexuality, gender identity, and sexual interests.
I am sex-positive, polyamory- and kink-knowledgeable, and I have the expertise and lived experience for clients who practice or are interested in non-traditional relationship styles and structures.
I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and then my Master’s in Social Work from Stony Brook University in New York. I obtained my clinical license (LCSW) in 2018 while living in Delaware, working alongside an incredible team of clinicians in a private group practice. There, I further developed my treatment specialties and became known as “the” clinician for severe eating disorders and borderline personality presentations.
From a young age, my generation was taught to embrace the mantra of “toxic positivity.” Research has shown the emotional toll a lifetime of these beliefs can have on a person’s identity formation, especially through adolescence and young adulthood.
As we start to try to answer questions about who we are and what we want out of life, we can feel burdened by the expectations of other people, eventually stifling our true identities so we can stop trying to “fit a square peg in a round hole,” as it were. Adolescents and young/emerging adults deserve better.
You deserve a space where you can be exactly who you are and become who you want to be in a way that makes you feel seen and validated. At its core, I aspire to be exactly the kind of therapist my generational peers, and I, would have needed in our formative years. An authentic, nonjudgmental therapist who genuinely cares about your success will call you out when needed (but gently!).
My Fun Facts:
I’m a HUGE nerd. I attend at least two different comic-cons per year, play dungeons and dragons weekly with my friends, attend the Ren Fest every year, and will watch/read/play anything set in a fantasy-style universe.
I taught myself calligraphy a few years ago, and now it’s one of my favorite hobbies and self-care activities.
I love to travel, and in the few years before I married, I developed an affinity for solo vacationing. I love to fly, and my goal is to “live like a local” whenever I visit somewhere new.
If you open up my Spotify at any moment, you’re almost certain to hear some Broadway soundtrack. I LOVE theatre, and I’ve been in my fair share of community theatre and college productions. I miss performing quite a bit and want to find a way to fit it back into my normal schedule.
As my client, I’ll probably show you a picture of my dogs at some point or another. They’re the best companions I could ask for and are full of love (and energy – which is why you won’t see them at the office!). My best life would be living in a house full of golden retrievers.

As a therapist, I’m always learning and growing, just like the clients I work with. - I LOVE food!! Seriously, it’s my favorite thing. I love enjoying food for all it has to offer. That said, I’m not a good cook; my husband is. I am good at making reservations and ordering out. And by the way, I’m not a fan of vegetables!!

Let’s get to know each other!
The therapeutic relationship is one of trust, respect, and an alliance toward achieving your overall well-being. Acknowledging areas of your life that you would like to improve and deciding to do what it takes to make those changes takes a lot of courage and strength. If you feel guilty about the past, overthink the present, or worry about the future, you may benefit from having someone to talk through these things.
Together, we will identify the challenges you are currently experiencing and determine what you want to gain through counseling. Whether it be exploring your past to find the significance and meaning in certain events, providing you with healthy coping skills to overcome and work through obstacles, or setting objectives and working towards the best version of yourself – I will be by your side to help you navigate the process and achieve your goals.
A bit more about me…
I graduated from the University of South Florida Sarasota-Manatee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and from Walden University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in addiction. I have worked specifically with the substance use population for the past six years, working in detox facilities, residential programs, and outpatient settings.
My goal is to educate you about the disease of addiction while providing you with relapse-prevention skills to help you maintain long-term sobriety and improve your overall mental well-being.
While working with the substance use population, I have found that substance use and mental health issues often coexist, and both require hope, compassion, and support to overcome. I am honored to take this journey with you and look forward to working together!
My Fun Facts:
My happy place is by or on a body of water! I love paddle boarding in the mangroves, springs, and rivers and am always looking for new places to explore. I moved to Sarasota in 2015 with the idea that I would be at the beach every day, and although I didn’t achieve this goal, I try to keep it a regular part of my self-care routine.
I love yoga! I’ve been practicing for over eleven years and find being on the mat incredibly healing. I completed my YTT in August of 2023 and incorporate trauma-informed yoga into my counseling program.
I have a corgi and my favorite thing to do after a long day is to hang out with her, my two cats, and my partner on the couch reading my kindle!
I am a total nerd when it comes to the brain. I plan on getting my doctorate in neuropsychology to keep me updated on the most recent research so that I can provide you with the most effective techniques for hacking your nervous system! I’ll do my best to keep neuroscience to a minimum in session, but I think it is so essential to understand the science behind your experience.

My commitment to my clients is to always hold a safe, non-judgmental space where they can explore their difficulties and confront them in an honest way.
I work in St. Pete – Downtown
My hourly rate is: $185
My specialties are:
Holistic Mental Health Counseling, Body Work, Mindfulness, Meditation, Enneagram/Personality Work, Couples Counseling
Let’s get to know each other!
My approach to counseling is holistic wellness which integrates mindfulness techniques, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), existential therapy, and humanistic therapy. I emphasize the mind/body connection along with identifying and addressing unhealthy patterns and beliefs.
My commitment to my clients is to always hold a safe, non-judgmental space where they can explore their difficulties and confront them in an honest way. In my experience, healing can only occur when we are honest with ourselves about our challenges, and this can take tremendous courage. I believe that assisting clients in their growth and positive life change is one of the highest privileges as a counselor.
A bit more about me…
I came to this profession because I was fascinated with the human mind and personality. My interest in the psyche and what it means to be a healthy human began with reading literature on human growth potential and holistic health. As I learned that many of our limitations are self-imposed, I tried to find out more about myself and my limitations. This leads me on a journey of self-discovery, exploring ancient and modern philosophies, practicing meditation and dynamic forms of mindfulness, learning about personality traits, and confronting unhealthy beliefs. While working at Deepak Chopra’s Center for Well-Being, I was exposed to alternative approaches to healing. I also explored the Enneagram personality system and ways to apply it to counseling and personal development. Following that, I decided to incorporate modern psychology and pursue a counseling degree. Accumulating knowledge and skills to grow and help others became my mission. I believe that blending the best of ancient knowledge and innovative approaches is the most effective way to change our lives positively.
My Fun Facts:
I am a big fan of nature and any adventure, whether getting lost in the woods or jumping out of an airplane. I usually drag my wife and daughter into some wild trip. One of my favorite things is wilderness survival. I love exploring and traveling to new places. My other passions are martial arts, reading books, eating great food, and taking long meditative walks around St. Pete. I have three cats who remind me to live in the moment and not to take myself too seriously.
I graduated from the University of South Florida with a double Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and History. My graduate studies focused on professional counseling, and I earned my Master’s degree from Nova Southeastern University. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida and an active member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). Throughout my career, I have worked to help people understand the mind/body connection and the power of using an integrated approach to human growth and development.

My hourly rate is: $175
My specialties are:

Let’s get to know each other!
I am a Registered Mental Health Intern with roughly 2 years of experience in therapeutic work, specializing mainly in grief/loss, trauma, and behavioral disorders. I have experience in telehealth video sessions as well as in-person work. My main approach with clients is humanistic and heavily client-centered; the other main component to my approach is trauma-focused work.
I cannot wait to begin a new journey with you. Mentors in the past have told me that, every client is the foremost experts on themselves—and I agree! In counseling, my main goal is to support you while you take the next steps in your personal journey. My office and conversations with me are a safe space for us to find you in the middle of.
I have dabbled in a few positions in order to learn how to help each client individually, to tailor my approach. My main goal has always been to land in private practice, engaging in the face to face work with each client. My most expansive experience is with those struggling with:
- Depression
- Grief and Recent Loss
- Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
- Trauma
- Post-traumatic Stress Disorder
Although my service with clients has ranged across all ages and many disorders or life situations, I primarily work with:
- Adolescents
- Young Adults
- Adults (of all ages!)
A bit more about me…
I welcome all individuals regardless of religion, age, gender, sexuality, ability, culture, and more. Clients will find in session with me, they are at the ‘helm’ of our journey. I believe that as a client in the therapeutic space, my obligation is to be alongside you as we engage in the work involved in handling your presenting issue. This means that what a client comes to the therapeutic space with is what we will tackle, together. I do tailor each approach to each client, and our work together is a collaboration between us.
Clients can expect a session with me to look like 50 minutes spent focusing on what they bring into the room. I understand that the thread that runs through therapeutic work is non-linear, so whatever you bring to the table, we will unwrap it regardless of the subject.
I make use of several modalities while working with clients, including CBT, DBT, person-centered theory, humanistic theory, mindfulness interventions, polyvagal interventions, and trauma-focused interventions.
My combination of interventions mean that my approach in session is significantly guided by clients and, specifically means that the focus is on building a strong therapeutic relationship before we delve into deeper parts of our work together. I am able to meet with clients in person as well as over telehealth.
My Fun Facts:
- I am a Registered Mental Health Intern and National Certified Counselor (NCC).
- I am a twin! (The younger of the two!)

Let’s get to know each other!
People often describe me as empathetic, kind, easy to talk to, and a thoughtful communicator. In my friend group, I was more of an observant listener, which I believe strengthens my abilities as a counselor. I have experience working with children and adolescents, as well as providing family therapy. Additionally, I have participated in group therapy focused on grief and loss, as well as eating disorders, including Anorexia and Bulimia. My passion for counseling stems from my own experiences during adolescence. Because of this, I am particularly interested in working with young people who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, and eating disorders. Ultimately, I want to help individuals in any way I can. I believe that everyone requires support at times, and the form that support takes can vary widely. Counseling is a valuable avenue for personal growth, whether it’s for oneself, family, children, or any other aspect of life. I aspire to help you on your journey to achieving that growth.

I understand that reaching out can be a difficult step, but I want you to know that you are not alone. As you leave, I hope you feel supported and uplifted and that you look forward to returning. A bit more about me…
I was raised in Sarasota and graduated from Riverview High School (Go Rams!). I graduated from Florida Southern College with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology in 2006 (Go Mocs!) and then moved to North Carolina, where I worked at a wilderness residential facility for adjudicated juveniles. In 2010, I moved to Nashville, TN, where I began working in community mental health and attending graduate school at Capella University. I earned my Masters’ degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2013 and became licensed in Tennessee as a Licensed Professional Counseling with a Mental Health Service Provider designation in 2017. Once licensed, my career focused on working with military personnel and their families. I also worked as the Clinical Supervisor for Suicide Prevention and Crisis Stabilization for Centerstone of Tennessee. I opened my own private practice in 2019. Most recently, life circumstances have brought me back to the Sarasota area where I enthusiastically and quickly became a Licensed Mental Health Counselor for the state of Florida. I’m so excited to be back home and to be working in my original community.
I fully believe that starting therapy should be as uncomplicated as possible. You’ve made the decision that counseling would be beneficial for you, and that should be the hardest step you have to make! Today you are one step closer to a new you where you feel empowered and on a positive path to growth and well-being.
I am passionate about helping you find the right path for you. I believe you are the expert of your life, and it is my job to help you identify your true potential. While we can’t change difficult situations of the past, we can work together to better understand and resolve challenges in your life. I believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. My goal is to create a space where you feel genuinely seen, safe, and connected. This means showing up with attunement and presence, so you can begin to let go of protective barriers and be fully yourself. Many of us carry feelings of shame or isolation, especially when we feel misunderstood by those closest to us. In therapy, connection becomes the antidote—and the starting point for healing. Some days we may laugh, and other days may be a bit heavier. It’s all about what you need and bring into the room that day, and I will be with you to support, validate, or guide you with insight and tools to implement outside the therapeutic space.
A bit more about me…
I began my career in business, driven by a strong motivation to grow and adapt—never remaining stagnant, a value I still hold today. After facing personal hardships, I sought support through counseling but often left feeling more misunderstood than helped. I know what it’s like to carry shame and fear, and how these emotions fuel disconnection and unhealthy patterns. I also know what healing looks like—thanks to therapists who shared their own experiences and helped me rediscover hope. Today, I find purpose in helping others see themselves as whole, not defined by the parts they struggle with. As a clinician, I remain vigilant in continuous training for growth and being able to provide the best care possible!
My Fun Facts:
• I’m originally from TN, and while the sun and beach are wonderful, I miss the seasons and find the mountains amazing. It makes me feel part of something much greater than myself!
• I LOVE roller coasters and white-water rafting, especially when it’s with my 2 sisters!
• I have a 3 year old French Bulldog named Luka who is more than a handful!!!

Let’s get to know each other!
Having been a therapist for over 19 years, I feel honored to be a part of each of my clients’ healing journeys. I respect and value all who demonstrate the strength to ask for help and allow me to hold space for them as they work through challenging times. I believe my clients are the specialists in their own lives…they are the experts in the driver’s seat. I am the passenger who can point things out and help them consider different ways to reroute when life is not flowing as desired, but ultimately, the client always has the choice in which direction to go. Because I view my clients as experts, I believe therapy should involve collaboration. I don’t have all the answers, and it is not my job to create my goals for someone else’s life. Rather, I assist in their identification of personal goals and facilitate the creation of a plan to achieve them. I don’t believe there is a such thing as ‘the perfect life’…I certainly don’t have one! Therapy is not for ‘crazy’ people, rather everyone can find value in it from time to time. We all have struggles and storms in our lives, and being able to support people through their own is truly rewarding to me.
When you begin a therapy relationship with me, we become a team. Our sessions are an opportunity for you to share your thoughts and emotions, free from any judgment. I ask my clients to bring their authentic selves into session (don’t worry, I can help you to connect with that part!), and I provide a nurturing, safe environment for you to feel free to grow into your genuine self. I believe we are all capable of healing. It may take time, but if you are open to the process, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
A bit more about me…
Throughout my career, I have worked with many different populations in a variety of settings. Early in my career, I gained experience in an inpatient setting, as well as in a substance abuse residential program for individuals coming out of state correctional institutions. I also spent a year as a school counselor within the public school system. Ultimately, I transitioned into private practice, where I worked primarily with clients struggling with eating disorders in an outpatient/intensive outpatient environment.
I also worked extensively with military service members and their families during intense times in our recent military history. My own years as a U.S. Marine Corps spouse have given me the ability to empathize with the challenges of this life, and I am eager to support our military families who face similar hardships. In addition, I enjoy working with couples as they attempt to resolve conflict and reconnect with one another. Whether the relationship has drifted apart over the years, there was a significant violation of trust, or a couple is looking for assistance as they amicably separate, I work with the different ‘parts’ of the relationship to facilitate healing.
Over the past years, I faced my own unexpected medical challenges, and this provided me with a greater level of compassion for those experiencing chronic pain and illness. I am passionate about supporting those who may be struggling with medical symptoms and diagnoses that are interfering with their mental health, and I work to provide my clients with the tools they need to advocate for themselves for their own healthcare needs.
In addition to working in the mental health field, I also have been a personal fitness trainer. I personally have benefitted, both physically and mentally, from exercise, and I recognize how inter-connected these aspects of our health are. I view wellness from a holistic lens, and I support my clients as they work to achieve greater health and functioning.
I consider myself to be eclectic in my therapeutic approach. I realize that we are all individuals and have different needs and preferences. There is no one size fits all approach to therapy. However, first and foremost, my goal is to develop rapport with my clients. This is so important for clients, so they can feel safe being vulnerable. Some of the theoretical orientations that I pull from are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Somatic Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Emotion Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. I also am a fan of the Gottman Method and Imago Relationship Therapy. I realize all these orientations may sound daunting and overwhelming, but I also try to help my clients feel comfortable with humor. Laughter has been proven to have tremendous benefits on one’s physical and mental health, and it truly can be healing.
