Let's get to know each other!

My approach to therapy is based on the belief that a meaningful, authentic connection is necessary for growth and healing. I believe in creating a safe and inclusive space where clients feel comfortable expressing and sharing their feelings while also having challenging conversations that make new possibilities for growth. My style has been described as warm, supportive, and compassionate. I operate from a solution-focused and person-centered approach and see myself as an advocate and cheerleader for my clients. I believe everyone has the strengths needed to get to where they want to be but often has difficulty identifying and utilizing their resources in times of distress. My goal is to help individuals realize their strengths and use them to their advantage.

Starting therapy can be scary. Society often tells us that treatment is serious, stressful, and even dull, but therapy can be molded into whatever you need it to be! My sessions often include discussing recent memes, movies, shows, and TikTok videos influencing your life, art activities, and pop culture references. There are many opportunities to be silly, open, and unapologetically YOU.

I am honored to join you in your healing journey! Change isn’t linear and can be difficult and uncomfortable, but it can be done. It takes a lot of courage and motivation to reach out during the most trying times, but this is the first step to your continued growth.

A bit more about me…

I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology and Family and Child Sciences from Florida State University (Go Noles!). Then I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and a certificate in Systemic Multicultural Counseling from Appalachian State University. I am currently a licensed marriage and family therapist (LMFT). As a marriage & family therapist, I am experienced in guiding individuals, couples, and families as they work through traumatic and complex situations. My areas of passion are women’s issues, relationship and parenting issues, grief/loss, self-esteem, anxiety, depression, personal growth, and trauma. I provide services in Spanish and English and welcome the opportunity to work with my fellow Latinos.

My Fun Facts:

  • Dance is my favorite type of exercise, and it is the best kind of self-care for me. I dance and have taught Casino (Cuban style) salsa dancing. In 2015, I had the opportunity to perform with my dance team at the San Francisco Rueda Festival.
  • ¡Hablo español! My family is Cuban and, despite being born in the US, my first language was Spanish. I wasn’t fluent in English until I was about 7-8 years old.
  • I love the beach. I moved to the Tampa Bay area specifically for the beautiful beaches! One of my favorite ways to spend a day is with my Kindle on Passe-A-Grille.
  • I love to travel but am terrified of flying and get anxious just thinking about hopping on a plane. This fear hasn’t stopped me from doing what I love, but it’s something I am working on. Deep breaths and guided imagery are my coping skills during flights.
  • I love musicals, puns, and quoting The Office (frequently!).
