Lana Nagle
Advanced Practice Registered Nurse
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
In my career and life, I found that often healing can begin with simply feeling heard and seen. That is why I strongly believe that medication management Is only one part of the treatment and combining it with psychotherapy is extremely important. Connecting with people and being a supportive presence is very important to me. I strive to provide a safe space where it is possible to face one’s fears and embrace parts of the self that might be judged and suppressed. I use CBT and mindfulness techniques to assist patients with becoming more aware of limiting beliefs and to motivate them to bring meaningful change in their life. I also enjoy working closely with the talented team of mental health counselors at McNulty Counseling to help clients utilize the resources available to them and get the support they need for optimal mental-emotional wellbeing.

More About Me
My interest in healthcare started at a very young age with my grandmother (who was a field nurse in World War II) teaching me how to care for injuries. She taught me that the mental/emotional wellbeing of the patient was just as important as tending to the physical discomfort. This understanding carried on into my adult life as I explored multiple systems of healing. I initially became licensed as a massage therapist and esthetician where I found that caring for people was my calling. I wanted to do more so I pursued a degree as a registered nurse and subsequently added a bachelor’s degree in psychology. After working in the field for several years, I enrolled in the graduate nursing program at University of South Florida (USF), where I subsequently received my Master of Science in Nursing degree. As a Nurse Practitioner I have been working with addictions, psychiatry, and primary care. I am still committed to my personal and professional growth exploring various approaches for treating patients with both physical and mental health issues including mindfulness, nutrition, personality systems, traditional psychotherapy, and new research into health practices. I continue to strive to further my knowledge and skills and am currently enrolled in the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program at Nova Southeastern University.
A Little Bit About Me
I grew up in Bulgaria but have lived in the US for the past 22 years, 15 of which in Florida. My personal interests include traveling, wilderness survival, and martial arts. I have a slight obsession with cats and currently have three of them. My favorite thing is to spend time with my husband and daughter. I love a good adventure book as well as going on my own adventures.
